Robby Shelton won the BMW Charity Pro-Am on a second playoff hole to secure his first win of the season. Shelton, who opened the day with a five-shot lead, bogeyed the 18th hole to fall into a two-way tie with Ben Griffin. Shelton would par the second playoff hole, and won when Griffin par putt didn’t fall. It marks quite a turnaround for Shelton, who lost his PGA Tour card last year and missed the first six cuts of the season. Shelton is now 14th on the Korn Ferry points list with 7 regular season events remaining (Top 25 at the end of the regular season earn PGA Tour cards for the 2022-23 season).

Justin Thomas shot a -6 64 at the RBC Canadian Open to finish solo 3rd. Thomas, who had a string of 6 consecutive birdies, was -8 on the day and tied for the lead going to the 17th hole. Thomas’ string of 34 holes without a bogey ended on 17, and he’d bogey 18 as well, to settle for the 3rd place finish.
Tamara Clark finished 2nd in the Women’s 200 Meter at the New York City Grand Prix in a season-best 22.62 seconds.
The Bama Standard is reporting that Nico Johnson has accepted a position with the University of Texas football program (apparently in a graduate assistant position). Johnson has been with the University of Louisiana’s football program in a support role for the past several seasons.
