News
Tommy Hunter has been added to the New York Mets’ roster, returning to the major leagues for the first time this season. Hunter last appeared in a major league game on May 18, 2021, when he pitched 2 scoreless innings for the Mets against the Atlanta Braves (Hunter also picked up his only major league hit in the same game). Hunter’s 2021 season was cut short by a back injury and subsequent surgeries, and he signed a minor league deal with the Mets shortly after the beginning of the 2022 minor league season.
Once Hunter appears in a game, it will be the 15th consecutive season in which he has appeared in a major league game. His 15 seasons will break a tie with David Robertson and Al Worthington for the most ever by an Alabama pitcher (Robertson missed the entire 2020 season with elbow surgery). Hunter will only trail Luke Sewell (20 seasons) and David Magadan (16 seasons) for most season appearances by an Alabama player.

Amari Cooper thinks that Cleveland’s tradition and desire to win suits his personality well.
