Daily Recap – October 25, 2022

News

Bill Belichick’s post-game press conference left more questions than answers when it comes to Mac Jones’ usage last night, as well as the Patriots’ plans for starting quarterback going forward. Belichick insisted that Jones was not benched following an interception to end his third drive, and that the plan all along was to play both quarterbacks, though team members didn’t seem aware of the plan in the locker room afterwards. Belichick also said that he abandoned plans to put Jones back in the game in the seocnd half because the game had gotten out of hand. Belichick also declined to name a starting quarterback going forward.

More reactions – Mike Giardi of NFL Network analyzed each snap of Jones’ 3 drives, and found that he didn’t get a lot of help. Also, Jones’ interception hit ESPN’s SkyCam wire in flight, and should have been declared a dead ball. Further fallout – The Patriots had Bailey Zappe appearing on the WEEI weekly program that usually features Mac Jones, which might be a tip as to the Patriots’ plans going forward.

Herb Jones was held out of New Orleans’ game tonight after suffering a knee contusion against Utah over the weekend. Pelicans head coach Willie Green said that he hoped Jones would be available for the team’s upcoming road trip.

Cobie Fletcher-Vance has signed with Olympic Agency Sports for representation.

Community Outreach

Bradley and Nikki Bozeman hosted their 2nd annual Halloween Party in Charlotte last night. The adult party was held to benefit the Bozeman Foundation’s SYNC Snack Program, which combats food insecurity in schools and the community. The event raised over $41,000.
