News
Nick Dunlap rallied on the back nine to win the Barracuda Championship for his second win of the season, and his first since turning professional. Dunlap’s 55-foot eagle on 15 vaulted him into the lead, which he never relinquished. He ended up with a round of 62, which translated to a +19 in the Modified Stableford Scoring System that’s utilized in the event. Dunlap becomes the first golfer in history to win a PGA Tour event as an amateur and a professional in the same year, and is now inside the cut line for the FedEx Cup playoffs despite not earning any points until turning professional in-season.
Lauren Stephenson won the Twin Bridges Championship by 2 strokes for her first career win as a professional. Stephenson, who led by 4 to start the round and by 5 early on the front nine, saw her lead drop to 1 going to 18. She birdied 18 to secure the win. The win will move her to 3rd in the Epson Tour Race for the Card points, and almost assuredly means that she’ll regain a full LPGA Tour card for the 2025 season.
Jiwon Jeon finished T13th at the Dana Open, which marked her career-best finish on the LPGA Tour.
