Alabama Pro Athlete of the Week – Erin Routliffe (April 7, 2025)

Your Alabama Pro Athlete of the Week is Erin Routliffe. Routliffe, playing with Jeļena Ostapenko for the first time, won the doubles title at the Charleston Open. The win was Routliffe’s first championship of 2025, and the 9th WTA/Grand Slam title of her career.

Others of note:

Rhyan White posted wins in the Women’s 100 meter and 200 meter backstroke at the TYR Pro Swim Series event in Sacramento. She also finished 2nd in the 50 meter backstroke.

J.D. Davison averaged 34.7 points, 13.3 assists, and 2.0 steals in 3 post-season games for the Maine Celtics. He was also named G League MVP.

Jaden Shackelford scored 21 points and 20 points in Valley’s final two post-season games.

Braxton Key had a 30 point, 12 rebound game in Saanta Cruz’s season finale.

Collin Sexton had back-to-back 27 point games for Utah.

Dominick Welch had a 20 point, 9 rebound game and a 21 point, 11 rebound game in the KW TItans’ first two post-season games.

Noah Gurley scored 23 points in a win for Alkar Sinj.

Donta Hall blocked 5 shots in Baskonia’s ACB league game.

Peyton Wilson opened the season going 4-for-11 with 5 walks, 2 steals, and 3 RBI. He had a .364 batting average and a 1.043 OPS.

Garrett McMillan gave up 1 run in 5 innings and struck out 8 batters for Greensboro.

Dylan Smith picked up a win in relief with 3 strikeouts in 2 innings of work.

Greg Farone struck out 6 batters in 3.2 innings in his professional debut.

Sam Praytor homered in his first Double-A game to give Pensacola a win.

Bud Cauley finished T-5th at the Valero Texas Open.

Khaleb McRae won the Men’s 400 meter at the Florida Relays.

Jereem Richards finished 2nd in the Men’s 200 Meter at the Grand Slam Track event in Jamaica.

Quanesha Burks finished 2nd in the Women’s Long Jump at the Miramar Invitational.

Patrick Kaukovalta reached the doubles semifinals at the ITF Futures Tour event in Antalya, Turkey.

Diana Petkova finished 2nd in the women’s 100 meter breaststroke and 3rd in the women’s 200m Individual Medley at the TYR Pro Swim Series event in Sacramento.

Krystal Rivers was Match MVP, with 21 points on 49% attack efficiency, in Stuttgart’s semifinal win.
